Our Ministries

Sunday Morning Gatherings:  Here at the Northern Lighthouse we believe that gathering as a church family is an important activity that we do each week.  We gather to celebrate what God is doing in each others lives, to hear the gospel, and partake in communion together.  Our gatherings are neither flashy nor boring; we simply seek to fulfill our vision.  That vision is:  being a place where everyone is accepted for who they are regardless of their past, and where everyone finds direction for their lives from the Gospel.

Worship:
We meet weekly on Sunday mornings, 9:50 a.m. at the Northern Lighthouse Church (6141 N 14th Street).

Small groups:
Following the service, after a short break, we meet in small groups.  This allows us to engage in deeper discussion on the morning message, or occasionally, for other learning opportunities; all with the desire to help one another become healthier in Christ.

Sunday school:
We offer Sunday School during the small group time, for children 4 years through 5th grade,  as we desire for our primary worship services to take place as a family.

Child Care:
Child care is available for children ages 0-3 years old, during both the worship service and small group time.

Meal:
Lunch is provided at 12:00 p.m. following the small group time, as a means to enjoy and foster the community of the Northern Lighthouse.

Transportation:
We provide rides to those in the City of LincolnTo get a ride to church please contact Dave at 402.525.3237 by Saturday night.

Lincoln Nebraska Re-Integration Program (RIP):
The RIP program offers three, 14 week sessions each year, on Monday Nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  These classes are open to the community and to our friends who live at Community Corrections Center of Lincoln.  Women meet at the Northern Lighthouse and Men meet at Hope Community Church (4700 S Folsom St).  Classes include life skills, 12 step, 7 habits, grief share, Abiding in Christ, and more.

Charity Autos:
‘Come Stressed and Leave Blessed!’  That is the goal on Saturday mornings as a group of volunteer inmates from the Community Corrections Center of Lincoln and a handful of volunteers do minor repair work on cars for those in need.  We ask only for a small donation and that you supply the parts.  To receive this service, please call the Northern Lighthouse by Wednesday and give us a detailed message about your auto repair needs:  402.477.3550

R12 House:

The R12 house is our transition house for men paroling in Lincoln.  We have space for up to 5 men.  The house is located close to the Bolivar House Community where Jon and Anna Keyzer live.  We are excited to see what God does in this new ministry!!

Missional Communities/Bible Studies:
Our Missional Communities/bible studies are smaller gatherings of the NL family that meet during the week.  We seek to live life together, serving each other and those in our lives.   In this way, we help one another live out our identities in Christ as a Family of Servant Missionaries.  Women’s bible study meets on Thursday nights.  Men’s bible study meets Friday mornings.  There is also a co-ed bible study that meets on Thursday evenings.  Please call the church for more details.
